Also, Filemaker is cross platform to the extent that they have
versions for Mac and Windows. No Linux or Unix versions yet.
Open Office does have some database capabilities in version
2.0 and newer. It is not meant to be a heavy duty database for
large enterprise projects. It may suffice and as part of OOo it
is integrated into OOo and is available for the cost of a download.
