I don't have a real good answer. Can you repeat your registry trick for 2.0.2?

Dear OpenOffice users:
I have the following problem while trying to install the current version
(2.0.2) on my Windows XP machine.

The machine was originally running Windows 98 SE and at that time I had
installed an older version of OpenOffice (1.9.125). Recently I upgraded
the system to Windows XP (SP2), keeping the same file and directory
structure. The upgrade went fine and all of my applications were
available on XP. I then tried to install the latest OO version (2.0.2)
and it stopped in the middle with an error that the older version of OO
could not be uninstalled. So I tried to uninstall OO 1.9.125 from the
Control Panel with Add/Remove Programs and, sure enough, XP was unable
to uninstall it because I had moved or deleted the original installation
files (ncluding the msi file) in the meantime. That left me with no
option but to run regedit and manually remove all entries relating to
OpenOffice 1.9.125 (and there were a lot of them!), then deleting the
Open Office 1.9.125 installation itself. This effort was successful in
removing Open Office 1.9.125 from the Add/Remove Programs list but now
when I try to install the new version 2.0.2 it stops with an error that
it is unable to remove a previous installation of 2.0.2 (which must be
my earlier incomplete attempt).

If any of you have any idea how to clean up previous installation traces
from the system so that the current version can be successfully
installed, I would greatly appreciate it. As I am not subscribed to the
list, please reply directly to this request. Thanking you in advance.
