This may not be the best way but ...

1 --in the format menu --add a new user defined format --MMM, YY

2 --then write the first cell entry as DEC, 05

3-- next entry should be a function =earlier cell number -30
where 30 are the number of days in a month generally

4--copy and paste this function from cell 2 to fill up the rest of the column

5 mark all the column entries and change the format to the user defined one in step 1

This should do the job.

Hope this helps.

I have been using Microsoft Excel for 10 plus years and I can't quite figure
out how to autofill in the following format:

Dec, 05
Nov,05
Oct,05
etc.

When I try to autofill, it continues to give me Dec, 05 all the way down the
spreadsheet.
I am stumped, Anyway around this so that it acts like Microsoft Excel in the
Autofill department. I checked the document help and it did not help.

Any help is greatly appreciated., Clois
