I have some questions for you:
1. Which release of OOo?
2. Which version of Windows?
3. What is the format of the column? If it it text then behaviour
is correct and if date them it may be worth an issue.
4. If date then the sequence should increment by day not month
To increment by month I suspect you will need a macro
