I changed to Ubuntu Linux and the problem does not repeat in this Linux
distro.
So far I keep using Ubunto 6
Hope this helps.

Subject: Column width in Linux Suse and Calc 2.0.2 is extremely large
        (confirmed)

Hi,

I encounter exactly the same problem as Juan Pedro: the columns are
unbelievably wide.
The problem is also present when opening existing spreadsheets.

I use OpenOffice 2.0.2 (build 2.0.2.5), on OpenSuse Linux 10.1.

However, I've I noted something which is partly a temporary fix, partly
may be a hint to the bug:
When I delete the ~/.ooo-2.0 catalogue before opening oo calc the
problem disappears.
It reappears the next time I open a new or existing spreadsheet.

If someone could hint me to the file which determines the standard width
of columns,
I could look further into my problem, possibly helping other people and
OOO?

thanks, Mikkel
