there is a box that pops up
caution sign then could not create back-up
the same occurs from the file sub menu
also the auto save though
tools_______options________load/save____general
changing the default document type from text document to spreadsheet will
not correct the issue.
sorry about the cap shouting. i have not had that issue for years around
here i send and recieve thousands of emails a month personal and business
and they are in caps
so i do apologize.

Please do not use ALL CAPS in an email. This is the equivalent to
shouting, and volunteers may not respond to shouting.
Could you send us more information on the error (ie. what does the error
say?) as well as the version of OOo you have and your operating system.
This might help us to diagnose your problem.
