Hi!
Our office currently uses Microsoft Excel and we e-mail spreadsheets
out to
other people. However, we are coming across the fact that some of the
people
do not have Excel. Will your product really allow them to open our
spreadsheets? Is it really a free product?
Thank you,

Tamara: Yes, OpenOffice.org is a free product, and yes, it will enable
your customers to open Excel spreadsheets.
I have another suggestion though, which I think would be easier for your
customers. YOU obtain OpenOffice.org. You can open up your existing
Excel spreadsheets and create new spreadsheets using OOo. Then you can
very easily "Export to pdf" and thus convert your spreadsheet into a pdf
file, which can be opened by anyone with Adobe Acrobat Reader, which
nearly every computer has these days. And if they don't, they can easily
download it for free.
That way, you're not asking your customers to install software to read
your files.
And to add to this, if you mail your customers any data disks, you could
include copies of OOo for your customers.
Help spread OOo.
