Hi: There are unofficial prepackaged versions of OpenOffice by SUSE/Novell in ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/projects/OpenOffice.org/10.1-i386/2.0.3-1 and mirrors (check the SUSE version (10.1) and the architecture (i386)). Download the packages you want to upgrade to an empty directory and run from a root terminal/konsole rpm -Uvh *.rpm (there must be a way of doing it with Yast by adding your directory as a package source, but I use the commnad line). rpm will order the packages, check dependencies and upgrade (the U option) the existing ones echoing a hash "#" (the -h option) as a sort of progress indication (-v means verbose, just to know the process is alive). You may then have to reconfigure the QuickStarter (pointing to the correct directory) if yopu are upgrading from a 1.x version. The site hosts are also other prepackaged software like Mozilla/Firefox. Hope this helps -- Osvaldo Clua
