Before I go ant further I need to know how to save a speedsheet program
and change it into a "delimited text"file, is this possible using your
system?
Hi Derek,
Of course it is possible. The oiption you need to use is "File" - > "Save
As" -> "File type" -> "Comma separated file(CSV)".

More to the general point, especially since OP didn't specify the
delimiter, the help file says:
The *Export of text files* dialog allows you to define the export
options for text files. The dialog will be displayed if you save
spreadsheet data as file type "Text CSV", and if the *Edit filter
settings* check box is marked in the *Save As* dialog.
So, File > Save As. In the Save as Type drop-down, choose Text CSV
(.csv) and make sure the checkbox for Edit filter settings is checked.
Your options are comma( , ), semicolon( ; ), colon( : ), tab and space.
You can also do fixed width.
