Sorry, but I really don't understand the "therefore" in the middle of that. The word "therefore" means that there is a cause and effect relationship. Why does being able to input data by tabbing from one field to another mean that the form has to be protected?
This is how it works in MsWord. After creating the document and putting the fields in their place, the document can be form-protected. Than the tab key can be used to jump from one field to another.

No, using the tab key in OOo won't automatically bring you from one field to another (anyway, I've never seen it working that way). So unprotecting the form and clickin from field to field is how it currently can be used in OOo. This is to my best knowledge. Pls correct me (with detailed explanation) if I'm wrong.
