If under OpenOffice's prefrences (tools--options--languages) your
locale is set to Hebrew, the default for both Writer and Calc will be
working from right to left.
There are 3 options:
1) under tools-- options-- languages set the default locale to US or
UK. Note that this will affect writer as well (it will start writing
from left to right), so this is not my preferred options.
2) In Calc, either right click the sheet name and uncheck "right to
left", or use the view menu.
3) I suspect that changing the sheets to left-to-right, saving them
as a template and setting it as the default template for Calc will
probably work as well.
