It is not a failure on the part of OpenOffice.org to support Chinese languages (be it Big-5 or Simple), but a failure of the X11 interface from Apple for Mac OS X. X11, out-of-the-box, will not support multi-byte languages. I passed this to the Mac OS X porting mail list as there is a possible solution to this situation and to get the Japanese Mac OS X team involved. James M.
