The easiest method is to highlight the range of cells you want to name (click and drag), and then go to the Name Box on the tool bar (left hand corner) which will be showing the range you have selected (eg, C3:E45), and type in the desired name.
This is the same functionality as MS Excel, if you've used that in the past. -- Klaas Visser -----Original Message----- From: William Case [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, 7 August 2006 11:19 To: [email protected] Subject: [users] Function for naming ranges ?? Hi; How do you name a range in Clac without using the Menu ==> Insert ==> Names ==> Define (Ctrl F3) gui. I am probably confusing myself because of the number of different Spread Sheets I have used over the years. I want to create a whole series of range names and I find after about 8 or 9 names the gui gets confusing. I would like to define the ranges on an empty sheet and use a lookup or something to find them. After I finish adjusting the ranges then maybe I would save them to a permanent or internal location. Any and all suggestions welcome. By the way, is the =NAME() function used for this or something similar. -- Regards Bill FC5, OO 2.0.2 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
