1. I am not an isolationist.
2. All of the available documentation is on the web and the Wiki. Creating
a separate paper document is so 20th Century. (And I'm not kidding about this
we need to get the latest/greatest on the web not in some longish readme
file that absolutely NO ONE reads.)

No. Most of the Mac OS X porting team does not have the time to read through
the hundred or so messages posted here each day that have nothing to do
with the Mac OS X port. I decided to join this list after being advised to
do so by a regular Mac OS X team member. Some of the problems we
encounter are specific to the Mac port and would be considered clutter
by most other mailing list standards. If we find something, identify it, and
then have a fix, we would like to post one and only one message to
as many lists as it takes. Remember, each of the NL groups also has
its own list. Thus we would like to keep problems here isolated to user
problems that affect all of the platforms.

This is what we have on the web. Take a look at it. It is there for every one
to see and comment on. If you have a better way, add your comments to the
ongoing discussion in the [EMAIL PROTECTED] list. We do want to do things
better/smarter/easier.

BTW, the BASE problem I'm referring to only affects the Mac and only the MacTel
platform. Posting that this is broken here is not the best, but it keeps folks
from
using a broken product. This is a known problem with using Java to affect some
of the functionality and the Apple VM is not as compliant as one would like. A
fix
is in progress and when it is available in a production worthly release, I will
advise.

James M.
