thanks for that tip, but unfortunately it did not helped at all.

When I change the Command entry in the file associations to contain a "%U", 
changing the soffice to soffice %U, then I cannot open the files by clicking 
on a link to the file. 
When I have only soffice as the command, OpenOffice starts and opens the file. 
When I have soffice %U as the command, then I see the splash screen coming up, 
and disappearing, and nothing more happens. This does not matter if the link 
to the file is http://... or webdav://...
files from the local directories are opening fine just by clicking on them, 
with or without the %U in the command.
Is there anything I can do to not only see the splash screen but opening the 
document behind the link I clicked on?
