Hi Frank...

Thanks - I just wound the brain up, squinted my eyes and focused and I've
got it going - I downloaded the wrong connector archive from MySQL and I had
two JRE's loaded which seemed to cause a problem. But it's all good now.

IIRC, the zip contains the actual driver, a jar file. You need to unzip
it, and add the jar file to the class path, not the zip file.
