i just installed OO (slack package) on my system (slack10.2).
in OO writer when I set a tab position i get a vertical line all along the
heigh of the page which is normal but the problem is that the tab leaves a
trail of lines, and after moving all along the page width the page is quite
awful. the only way to clear the page is to scroll the page to hide the
dirt and then to scroll back.
