Is there a way get my Apple Macintosh Filemaker Pro database into a Open
Office database?
Is there anyway to turn a Spreadsheet file into an OOo Database file?
What I tried to do:
I Made a OOo Base .odb Form read a .xls file I made in Filemaker but
can't edit or input data in form even though I skipped step 6.
I gave myself permissions to read, write and execute both .xls data
source file and the .odb file I created to use its data.
I am new at this...what am I missing?
Thanks
If FileMaker can export to dBase, try to save your tables as dBase in a
dedicated directory. Then create a OOo-database of type dBase, pointing
to that directory.
File>New>Database
Connect to existing database, type = dBase
Pick directory ...
Database tables of type dBase (*.dbf -files) are writable in forms and
in the datasource-pane. You may add indices. Calc can read/write
dbf-files as single sheets. BUT: The builtin dBase-driver can not handle
relations.
