I had no problems, to install OOo on my Mandriva version (2006) and the former version (2005 aka 10.2). Are you trying to install the version of OOo shipped with your distro? (I guess, it was 1.1.3 with 2005). Or are you trying to install the original OOo version? And, which version do you want to install? Currently, I have installed 1.1.5, 1.9.129 (both shipped with Mandriva) and the current 2.0.3 on my computer without any problems. Have you downloaded the file (rpm) and have you unpacked them into a different directory? Move the Mandriva-file from the folder "Desktop integration" up to the RPMS directory. After doing this, type urpmi *.rpm and the installation process should start. I'm currently using the console for starting OOo 2.0.3: I'm typing soffice & and then original version starts.
