That's just a bogeyman. I'd be very surprised if version 2.0.3 does not install. You can still get 2.0.2 (which I use in preference to the later version) and probably 2.0.1 anyway. Version 2.0.4 is expected soon.

The distros tamper with OpenOffice and usually break something. Distro versions cause more problems than the original. It installs by rpm and there is a desktop-integration rpm for Mandriva.

You do not have to be limited to whatever's in Mandriva's repositories.

This nonsense about repositories is just that - nonsense.
