1. Click "T" button on a Drawing toolbar
('View -> Toolbars -> Drawing' menu item must be checked for the
toolbar to be visible.)
2. Draw a text box, and start typing (if you won't type anything, the
box will be deleted after you click somewhere else in a document).
3. You can format the text as usually; except, AFAIK, styles - if you
want to aply styles, better use frames (Insert -> Frame menu).
