Hi Judith
Can anybody please tell me, in easy steps, how I go about inserting a
text box into an OO document and then typing within that text box.
Easy!
In Writer, make sure that the drawing tools are showing (by default they
appear at the bottom of the screen). If you can't see them, just click on
the "pencil" picture on the top icon bar.
Once you can see the draw functions, click on the capital T icon, draw
your text box, and start writing!
I need to do this often with particular documents and it is sooo easy
with MS Word that, if I can't find a solution here, I may have to change
back - and I'd hate that!
It is very easy in Word. In fact, it's so easy, that I watch lots of
people use text boxes for things when it's not the most appropriate way to
do something. I do understand that many people like using them, though,
and as you can see it is also very easy in OpenOffice.org. We'd hate to
see you go back to Word, too!
Thanks in advance for any help.
You're very welcome!
Adrian
