[users] Open Office won't open

Hi,   I’ve installed Open Office on a eMac using X10.4 and I just can’t get it to open. The Open Office logo does appear in the Applications folder but when I click on it, nothing happens. The top of the screen does display Open Office but I cant get anything to open besides a small annoying window I cancel. Help!!!
