Well, its a little more complicated than that, especially in newer editions of 
SUSE 10.  They've messed with the package management, and fouled everything 
up (hence the reason I am now running Kubuntu).  However, the RPMs that are 
with OOo are installable on SUSE as I believe in the Linux download edition 
there is even a "SUSE" specific RPM for the desktop.  And YaST is, on a basic 
level, a front end for RPM that also handles a little of the more SUSE 
specific config functions.

However, if you are running a purchased "SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop" you 
have a better version than you can download (even in the OOo Premium) anyway, 
from what I've read about it.
