The "extras" with OOo Premium are downloadable separately (in platform- independent zip packages) and can be added, I understand, to your OOo version 2.0.x installation.

Even with SuSE, you can still use rpm rather than YAST. YAST is

Perhaps, instead of looking for software that SuSE will accept, you
should look for an operating system that will accept software. After
all, that's what operating systems are supposed to do.

Well, its a little more complicated than that, especially in newer editions of SUSE 10. They've messed with the package management, and fouled everything up (hence the reason I am now running Kubuntu). However, the RPMs that are with OOo are installable on SUSE as I believe in the Linux download edition there is even a "SUSE" specific RPM for the desktop. And YaST is, on a basic level, a front end for RPM that also handles a little of the more SUSE specific config functions.

However, if you are running a purchased "SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop" you have a better version than you can download (even in the OOo Premium) anyway, from what I've read about it.
