I am using Writer 2.0.3. I can make a hyperlink appear and I can get it
to jump to the appropriate place in the document using a bookmark, but
can anyone explain to me how I can get the Hyperlink to read something
like "see Section XYZ on page 123" please?
Please note, I want the "on page 123" part to be in black, not blue.
There may be a more streamlined way of doing this, but here goes!
Firstly, when you say you want "on page 123" to be black, I assume you
want "see Section XYZ" to be blue.
Step 1 - Create the section and a bookmark
If you haven't already done so, create a new section in the part of the
document you want to hyperlink to. To do this, move to that part of the
document and select Insert / Section from the menu. Call the new section
"Section XYZ".
To help with the page number part of the hyperlink, create a bookmark
there too (a reference also works). Select Insert / Bookmark from the
menu, and call the bookmark "Section XYZ" (for consistency).
Step 2 - Create the hyperlink.
We do this by creating a hyperlink and a cross-reference.
Go to the part of the document where you want the hyperlink to be, and
select Insert / Hyperlink from the menu. Select Document from the left
hand panel. Click on the "Target in document" bullseye icon, and choose
Section XYZ from Section. Click Apply then Close. Under the Text section,
type "see Section XYZ". Click Apply then Close.
Now move the cursor after the hyperlink and type " on page ". Select
Insert / Cross-reference from the menu, select Bookmark, Section XYZ,
Page. Click Apply then Close.
Done!
I hope that is what you are looking for. There is plenty of room to move
in this guideline if you are after something a little bit different, and
I'm sure others may come up with a more streamlined method.
Hope it helps.
