Thank you Dan, for your reply.
I realize that I stated not clearly enough (maybe you're right with
your advice about the italian mailing list, but it happens that I
mostly write in english and I use the english version of OO).
BTW: my question was related to editing point coordinates in
objects such as a polygon, where I'd like to modify the coordinates
of single points. This was a feature I appreciated back in the past
when I used Xfig for drawings.

You are still not very clear concerning what you want to do. Are
you wanting to move a vertex? Are you trying to move a couple of
sides? Is your object (pentagon, for example) created as a single
object or was it created by drawing and connecting the sides? Without
knowing the specifics, it is very difficult to explain how to do it.
Dan
Let's try an example: I have what OO calls a polygon (a sequence of points
connected by straight lines), I'd like to be able to have a menu like this:
x0,y0: 3.44 5.77
x1,y1: 2.55 3.33
x2,y2: 1.77 3.33
......
where (x0,y0), (x1,y1), ... are the points of the polygon
I'd like to be able to modify the numerical values of coordinates, let's say of
point (x2,y2), so that the resulting polygon is modified accordingly (all the
other points maintain the same coordinates).
Cheers,
l.f.

I've been using oowrite for some time with satisfaction but
sometimes I lack a simple function: a way to edit point

Many thanks,

There is a way to do this, but it depends upon what you
are positioning. Basically, do this. Click the object to
highlight it. Then right click within it. Choose the type of
object you have from the context menu that appears. (Frame for a
frame, Picture for a picture, etc.) The first table of the window
that opens will have controls for positioning the object. Since
you live in Italy, these are likely to be in cm or mm
measurements. Change these controls to place your object exactly
where you want it.
Since you are from Italy, you might want to use the Italian
mailing list: [EMAIL PROTECTED] There you can write your
questions in Italian and receive them in Italian also.
