Yes, there was recent Consumer Reports review that said this (AVG is
very good, as good if not better than Norton and McAffee)

Last INDEPENDANT source of information about
Anti-Virus software stated that AVG was an overall better
choice than all but the most expensive corporate AV's

But everyone has their own opinions to the best software
for whatever the need

Even Open office has people who think it is a bad solution,
and many say that it is the best.  That is up to your own choice.

Best is to find independant sources to find out what is best
