Katie has a point.

I have had customers ask me to remove them from [users] for the same reason.

What I do now, if they want the advantage of e-mail help, is to set up a message rule which diverts all [users] mail to an OOo folder. That way, if they are expecting a reply to a question, they know where to look, and if not, they can periodically scan the list for topics of interest and then delete the lot.
