One reason for my exploring the possibility of shifting to Open Office (and Star Office) was my dissatisfaction with the manner in which pictures (especially charts drawn up on packages like Photoshop) are reproduced when MS Office .doc files are printed.
Unfortunately, I had similar problems with Open Office, though the printouts appeared to be better. Is this a problem which can be effectively addressed in the near future in Open Office? I tend to prefer using a word processing package instead of a desktop publisher because it is important for me to make effective use of features such as outline numbering and so on. I prepare reports, which require the numbering of headings and each paragraph and the insertion of substantial number of pictures.
