The free Ubuntu CD does include a copy of OOo
(http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop). It's not the latest (2.0.2) but it's
free and included. Only problem (or not depending on how you look at it)
is that the OP would have to install Ubuntu to use it.

Yes and no.

If you install Ubuntu, it certainly does include OpenOffice.org.

But if you insert the CD while running Windows, it also allows you to install the Windows version of OpenOffice.org (and some other open source software).
