Update from me that the problem in opening big XLS files using Calc is
already solved.

Previously, the computer had 256MB and I tried to add 512MB memory and it
works !.
The time needed to open 9MB files is less than 1 minute (before: needs more
than 15 min).

But still it is question for me because why Mxxxxxx Office can open the same
file with 256MB but OpenOffice need 512MB ?

Anyway thanks for the response, especially for Sandy.

Subject: Re: [users] Calc Issues: Files sharing and problem in opening big
size of Calc files

1. You are correct. Calc files cannot be edited by more than one user at a
time.

2. The long opening time for larger files is the subject of at least one
issue.

Perhaps you could lend your support to getting it fixed by filing some
comments and/or voting for the issue. You have to register with
www.openoffice.org first.
