Note 1 : So how do I know if someone is not subscribed ?
That is easy :
<snip>
there is a field in every email on this list called
"Delivered-to". For subscribed users it will show your email
address. For unsubscribed users, there will be two "Delievered-to"
fields, the one as described above, and a second one with the value
"moderator". Any email delivered to the moderator and then to the
list, means that the email was from an unsubscribed user and
therefore you should try to CC: that user.
<snip>
For *un*subscribed users you get:
Delivered-To: mailing list [email protected]
Delivered-To: moderator for [email protected]
For subscribed users you get *only* the first of those. AFAIK you never get "your
email address".
Also, in Outlook Express (and possibly other mail readers too), there is no way
to get the software to show the Delivered-To: header(s)*automatically*. You can
view them but it requires several keystokes and is therefore easy to forget.
No, you can't filter on them either.
Thunderbird allows filtering on those headers.
