It is also available in Gentoo. Here is the developers blog http://noelpower.blogs.ie/ and the associated wiki page http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/VBA If you have the bandwidth they can be tried by downloading and burning a livedvd from http://www.sabayonlinux.org/ for Gentoo based or from http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/SL-10.1/non-oss-dvd-iso/SUSE-Linux-10.1-GM-LiveDVD.iso for SUSE. If your PC supports it, these should run entirely from the DVD drive, without affecting your current OS install.
