I have repeatedly created a custom Writer template and set it as the Default Template according to the instructions in Chapter 12, Working With Templates, of the OOo basic manual.
It "sticks" as the default template only as long as that computer session is active. Once I shut down the computer and restart it, Writer reverts to its built-in Default template as the default. The same problem occurs with both my installations of OOo, one on a machine running Windows 2000, and the other running Windows XP. I am using version 2.0.0. There was a similar query on this problem in November 2005, which was never resolved. Hopefully some has an answer this year. If I'm doing something wrong, at least I'm consistent!
