Though 'unopkg list' shows the package installed I don't see
postgresql as an option in the drop-down list of OOo Base when
creating a new database using an existing connection.

Is there some other packages OOo or OS I need to install or
perhaps a _really neat trick_ I'm missing.

Fedora Core 4 ( fully updated as of this AM ) including OOo 2.0.1

Can postgresql be accessed using a JDBC driver?
I know that there is an example somewhere on the internet of
using OOo 2.0 to connect to postgresql. I just do not know where.
It may be somewhere in the How-to section of
http://documentation.openoffice.org.

Sorry, I answered too quickly. The problem according to the link you provided has to do with whether the driver is installed properly. After the part about the 'unopkg list', I found this statement: Using the --shared option will install the driver for all users. Then start the OpenOffice.org Base program ./sbase. In the upcoming dialog choose the option connect to an existing database. In the combobox should appear postgresql (if the it is not there, the installation of the driver has failed). It is the last statement that leads me to believe the driver was only partially installed.

Me to. Not sure how to troubleshoot it. It could be as simple as a directory permissions issue but there are no error messages at all. Just no postgresql option.

I'll do some more looking.
