Right click on the shared folder and select properties

Select the sharing tab and click on permissions
Ensure the user have change and read rights

Still, it seems strange that no other programs have a problem opening,
saving, or modifying their respective document types. I use various
programs such as Autocad, Filemaker, MS Work, MS Excell, various
engineering programs, and so on. - never had a problem till now. Does
OO treat permissions differently than most software? Also, I don't have
the same problem when I am using a Ubuntu 6.06 desktop through Samba.
