When I saw this, I thought the problem is intractable. How is OOo supposed to know which parts of the formatting to change and which to retain? For example, if italics are also used for foreign phrases in titles, and these are not to be left in italics, what to do? Or what about bold, which is common in headings, but not in the contents list? Or the font used? Or any of the other character attributes. It really looks as though the formatting of the TOC is the very last thing to be done before final publishing. -- Andy Pepperdine On this mailing list help is provided by volunteers.
