I recommend using NeoOffice as it is uses the same code but is easier to
use than OpenOffice.org on the Mac. It is the same thing with a familiar
Mac interface. It uses the 2.0.3 version and has all the same features
and file format. It doesn't require X-Windows. And it is completely open
source as well.

hello, I would like to ask a question re: Open Office.
It says when I downloaded the open office for Intel Mac, the "stable" one
(not the newest one), that it requires X11. So I went to Apple and got
Xll and then tried to install it. It says I can't install it since I am
operating a higher OS (I just got a macbook; I assume that this is the
currently marketed OS). So what should I do? Seems like a Catch-22 to
me.. I can't install Open Office without X11 and my os won't let me use
X11.
Is there any way I can use Open Office without X11?
Thanks for the help.
