To make he word to be inserted, normally you type <Enter>. Of course,
don't type anything else before. The question of default fonts was asked
recently. I suppose you could find the answer in the FAQ.

Also, sometimes when I begin to type a word, the full word is displayed, with the untyped part of it highlighted. How do I get it to appear? I've tried the arrow key, enter, & tab; all of them make it disappear.
