NeoOffice is NOT an official OpenOffice.org build. I do recommend installing the proper version of X11 and using the OpenOffice.org supported version.
BTW, the OpenOffice.org Mac Porting project is working on a fully Apple Human Interface Guide compliant version and I expect to see a pre-release version soon.
