OpenOffice is NOT 100% compatible with MSO97. The more complex the
formatting of your documents, the higher the risk that it gets messed up
in the translation.
Wordpad shouldn't be a problem, because for as far as i've seen Wordpad
only saves to RTF, Text, Text in MS-DOS and Unicode text.
