Unfortunately, the reality of the situation is that for such a universal interface to occur, it would have to be presented by a universal provider. This means all of the various OS vendors have to come to a common agreement (yeah, right), or there is only one OS vendor (monopoly).

We can dream, but the political environment simply won't let it happen.


Boy, I needed a good laugh this morning and I do agree with you. I don't expect a common interface, just a common procedure, maybe as an option. But at least having an office suite that works on all platforms is a great achievement.
