When you get a Word 2003 XML document, right click on it, choose "Open With"
and then choose OpenOffice. If OpenOffice isn't in the list of possibilities
you can navigate to it via the Choose Program option. I think that even if OO
wasn't in the list the first time it will be put on the list after you
explicitly choose it.

If you use the Choose Program option (even if OOo is already on the list)
you'll be given the option, by checking a box, to make Windows remember your
choice for all future .xml files. Doing this would make life slightly more
convenient - you'd be able to just double click a .xml file to have it open in
OOo. Whether or not this is a good idea in your case depends on what other uses
you may have for .xml files. You can always change this "association" (between
.xml and OOo) later if necessary/desirable.

Is that what you meant by your question?
