[users] trouble with OO.o & Mac OS X Tiger

I installed X11 as directed, then installed the current Mac port of 
OO.o.  When I try running OO.o, all I get is the X11 terminal window 
with what looks like a command prompt.  The OO.o dock icon indicates 
that the program is running, but I am unable to access any menu items.  
None of the FAQs or documentation seem to address this issue.  Please help.
