[users] [moderated] starting openoffice on a mac

Dear sirs,
    I am using an iMac with OS 10.4.  I have X11 installed.  When I try to
start Open Office 2.0.4 I get a menu bar with open office 2.0 file edit.
After about 10 seconds it disappears. X11 is running and has a command
prompt with my user name. I don¹t see anything in the installation that
addresses this problem.  Thank you.
