I wonder whether the problem is this modern trend to display options (and whatever else) pictorially when a little text might reduce our need to guess what is meant. If the layout options were offered as: * 1 slide per page. * 2 slides per page. * 3 slides per page. * 4 slides per page. * 6 slides per page. then you would probably expect to arrange them with drag and drop.
