When you preparing to print, chose handout view (Tab menu above slide)

pages). You can also change handout view, in spite it isn't vary good
implemented.
I can't see anything wrong with it. It works for me ???
Then press File - Print... and in Print menu press Options.
Check Handout in Options menu and uncheck others, if you don't need
them, press OK and print Handouts.
Thank you Andis - I have it now.
I can see that the printer options button allows a whole array of
printouts to be done at once and that is very powerful. However I don't
think it suits a beginner. I am reasonably competent and willing to
learn but I'm not a massive user of presentation software so it doesn't
suit me either. I know I will forget to switch the print option to
whatever I want printed. In fact, even if I lived in presentation mode
I'm still capable of forgetting and printing the wrong format.
To make it more user friendly, may I suggest that you adjust the
software so that printer options (behind the scenes) switch to Handout
printing alone if Handout is displayed on-screen. Likewise, it could
switch to Outline or Normal depending on what is showing.
That need not prevent users from clicking the [Options] button and
selecting whatever more powerful combinations they want. You could also
offer a check-box on the options dialog to retain the selected settings
no matter which display format was showing - ie., current behaviour -
although it would be nice to remind the user what is going to be printed
if it isn't the format displayed.
My view is that a beginner is your most important user. I have been
trying to get people to begin using OO for years. In my reasonably wide
experience, beginners are reluctant to join a mailing list for support
and instead just throw up their hands and go back to what they are used
to. I have even had people tell their boss they will resign if they are
forced to use OO ie., learn something new.
Please accept my thanks for helping me.

Mike

I'm very happy with OpenOffice. Thank you.
I cannot figure out how to print out four slides to a page. I can
display them four to a page by just clicking on the appropriate layout
control. That isn't the problem.
When I try to print, it always comes out one slide per page.
Is there a trick to it?
Thank you
Mike
