What you need is of site disk mirrors.  ;-)

Actually, OO supports autosaves and backups.  Using both those options
will greatly reduce risk.

Incidentally, many years ago, I was editing a long document on a VAX
11/780, when the computer crashed (That was the only time I ever saw
that happen!).  After the system rebooted, I watched as all my
keystrokes, after the latest save, replayed, including corrections.
