Not too sure what the problem is. If you select the data, then the icon (which changes the cursor to cross hairs), then click and drag the area into which you want the graph entered. It will then come up with a list of options around type of gragh, etc...
Is it a type of graph that you want to use that you cannot see in Calc - if so, what type of graph are you after? /paul On 10/26/06, Si Thu Naing <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
Hello: I'm using Intel MacBook version of OpenOffice and everything was just fine until I tried to create a graph from my spreadsheet that I would normally do in MS Office. In MS Office, all I have to do is to click on an icon that will give me options how I want my graph (style). OpenOffice has an icon called "Insert Chart". Although it gave me some options to create a chart, it doesn't have the option that I want. What I wanted to do is to create a graph for my lab report which of course has some data in spreadsheet which I then select the desired data range to create a graph (i.e Frequency Vs Rotational Velocity or something similar). In OpenOffice, it gave me option to draw lines individually s if they are independent of each other and all the data are on the same axis (x-xis or y-axis). May be I just do not know how to select the data from spreadsheet document so that I can create a graph (Velocity Vs Time sort of graph. not pie chart or financial report sort of chart). If someone can give me instruction on how to get 2-D graph that people normally draw on a graphing paper for school work (i.e on x-axis and y-axis), I'll be very grateful to you. Thanks in advance.
